HEAD COACH
Craig McMunn has been involved in minor hockey for the past ten years. Coaching Rep and House League Hockey at all age levels in the Newmarket Minor Hockey Association and the SMGHA. His certification includes Developmental 1 and Trainers 2. Craig has also played recreational hockey for over 35 years and written game program and web site articles for the St Louis Blues, Toronto Maple Leafs, Pittsburg Penguins, Colorado Avalanche and the NHL for three seasons.
OBJECTIVE
This team is for the young women who have enjoyed the sport for several years and love the camaraderie and sense of achievement. We will achieve success with a balance of family, school and sport to advance the life skills of each individual through teamwork, effort and dedication, Success is measured in smiles and effort. A happy player works hard. A hard working player achieves goals and feels a sense of achievement. The two cannot happen without each other.
EXPECTATIONS
The expectations of the program are very simple. RESPECT AND EFFORT. The number of wins, losses, championships or banners doesn't mean anything if we didn't work hard with a level of mutual respect and fun. Players demonstrating RESPECT AND EFFORT will be given preference over ability.
COMMITTMENT
We will be entering 4 tournaments this coming season. One will be an overnight travel tournament and the other three the overnight will be at the families choice and reasonably local. Practices will be based on whatever ice we are given. At this time we don't expect to have any off ice or additional practices but a team meeting will be held in September to discuss this further.
